Then the temple police went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, “Why did you not arrest Him?”  The police answered, “Never has anyone spoken like this!”  John 7:45-46

Those who had religious power tried to pull followers away from Jesus the Messiah by starting a rumor that He was from Galilee, and everyone already knew that the Messiah would come from Bethlehem and the lineage of David.  How quick many were to believe the rumor instead of checking out the facts and allowing truth to guide their thinking.  So those in religious power scheme to send the temple police to arrest Jesus and the police are enthralled by His words, caught up in His Presence as He speaks right into their hearts, and they recognize Truth in Him.

The hearts of those policemen had joined with heaven’s song that Jesus saves them and their witness is powerful, “Never has anyone spoken like this!”  Nicodemus has the song also for he has listened to the saving words of the Messiah Savior, he too being one in religious power, recognizing and giving himself to the spiritual Truth in Jesus.

The lesson is plain that you’ll need to seek spiritual Truth in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit’s Presence.  Our blessed Holy Spirit, the true presence of Jesus Christ within us, aligns us with Jesus’ daily transformation of our lives.  Daily testify to this, “Never has  anyone spoken like our Savior Jesus Christ, Risen from the dead and alive within the Kingdom of Heaven here and now!”
