Lord I Believe!

Jesus said to the blind man whom He had healed, “You have seen Him, and the One speaking with you is He.  He said, “Lord, I believe.”  And he worshiped Him.  Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind.”  John 9:37-39

God did not send His only begotten Son into the world to condemn the world, but God gave us Jesus so that the world will be saved through Jesus Christ.  There is a choice offered to each and every person– to believe in Christ or not.  Jesus is the Light of the world and yet some folks choose to remain in the dark choice to not believe in Him.

Time and time again I hear believers say, “What would I do without Jesus?  How can someone choose not to believe in Jesus when to have Jesus is to have everything I ever needed and then some.”  Perhaps it is a similar situation to the blind man’s experience.  The blind man allowed Jesus to place mud made of dirt and Jesus’ spit onto his eyes, he had followed the instruction to go and wash in the pool of Siloam, he had answered questions about the healing from Jesus, and when later Jesus talks with him he did not know it was Jesus.

When Jesus tells him that He is the One, the now seeing man says, “Lord, I believe.”  Belief opens our eyes to the Spirit and we worship Him.  Worship is thankfulness, joy, praise, pure loving of Jesus, following Him, listening to Him, speaking faith, and songs from the Spirit.
