Your Good Shepherd

Jesus says, “I am the Good Shepherd.  I know My own and My own know Me, just as the Father know’s Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.  … For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life in order to take it up again.  John 10:14,17

Our Good Shepherd knows everything about us as a mixed group of people with different personalities, talents, intellectual abilities, wants, needs, desires, hopes, and dreams.  And as unique as you are, even with all your flaws and worries, Jesus had you on His mind when He died on the Cross.   You were in His thoughts, even though you had not even been born yet, innocent and pure as He was when God’s Son died that agonizing death so that death would have no grip on your believer’s soul.  He has saved you, and one day He will raise you into eternal life.  This is the Good of Jesus Christ.

As a Baptized believer in our Lord you have been marked with His Cross on your heart.  He is your everything.  You know His voice just as the sheep in the grazing field know the shepherd’s voice and listen to only the shepherd.  As your Shepherd, He is moving you forward within God’s purpose for your life, attending to your prayers, and He is praying for you as you stand firm in faith in Him.  Step forward confidently and energetically as you listen to Jesus through the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit’s anointing, and through prayerful conversation.  This is the Shepherd of Jesus Christ.

Our Lord is your Good Shepherd.
