Seeing Your Loved Ones In Heaven

They were looking for Jesus and were asking one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think?”  John 11:50

Jesus is Resurrection. He resurrects the little girl as James, John, Peter, and her parents are present.  He resurrects the widow’s only son as the funeral procession is upon Him.  He resurrects Lazarus, who comes out of the tomb after being dead for four days.  On the third day Jesus is resurrected and appears to believers for forty days after His resurrection.  He has been, is presently, and will be resurrecting believers as we see that our lives here are lived for His glory and our deaths glorify His Presence within us and within this world.

Jesus Christ is Resurrection and abundant Life.  A question that I am sometimes asked is, “Can a sin which I have committed keep me from receiving the resurrection?”  The short answer is, yes a sin can prevent you from going to heaven; you will not see your loved ones in heaven; you won’t get to heaven.  The long answer is, the sin that has come into your mind, the sin that you are referring to in response to the question, is the sin that you must repent of– taking it to Jesus with truly heartfelt apology, asking for Jesus’ forgiveness, and never committing that sin again.

To repent of sin is also to receive Jesus forgiveness. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9  Then, sin no more.
