Jesus Is Troubled

Jesus says, “Now My soul is troubled.  And what should I say — ‘Father, save Me from this hour’?  No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour.  Father, glorify Your name.”   Then a Voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”  The crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder.  Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”  Jesus answered, “This Voice has come for your sake, not for Mine.  Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out.”  John 12:27-31

Jesus suffered agony for you; unjustly tried in a mock trial, grossly beaten, trudging the Via Dolorosa carrying His Cross beam, bleeding with pain and agony on the Cross as He died.  Jesus says His soul is troubled, as reference to Psalm 42:5: 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me?  Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my Help and My God.  For, Jesus had you in mind as He died to give you salvation and to have victory over evil in this world.

You cannot take His same path, walk it or live it the same way He did.  Yet, by the New Birth you have in Him, the Holy Spirit’s Power has been anointing you each time your concentration is set on Christ your Lord and Savior.  Set your focus on Christ and you set your heart and mind on the Heavenly Father who glorifies His only Begotten Son.

Study Jesus and imitate Christ with who you are — you are gloriously and wonderously made in His image.  Pray with compassion and mercy like Christ.  And use, really use your Holy Spirit fired up faith in Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior to bring others to Him with all that you are, all that you do, and all that you speak.  Hope and glorify His Name.
