Jesus says, “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father.” John 15:12-15
The Lord and Savior of the Word, the One who was with God in creation, and our beloved Son of God Almighty who bled and died on the Cross for your salvation calls you His friend. He does not call you His underling, servant, slave, minon, nor puppet. He says to you, “You are my friend.”
Your friendship with Him is the best friendship you have, ever. Experience the fullness of His love for you in all ways and love others as He loves you. Tell others that you love them, often. Show them, and show those others who do not know Christ yet, show them love. Make choices which are loving, compassionate, empathetic, and kind to others. Love them.
Jesus has layed down His life for you, His friend. He did this to victoriously conquer evil and death, and to give you His Presence through the Holy Spirit’s indwelling in your heart. Know and understand all that you can through your New Testament; enjoy time together there with Jesus your Friend who sits with you when you read Scriptures. What joy it is to be with Him!
