I saw the Lord always before me, for He is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken; therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh’s will live in hope. Acts 2:25
Peter speaks Truth here in reference to Psalm 16:8-11 to point out that David was prophesying that the Messiah was to be in his lineage. The Jewish crowd that is hearing Peter knows the Savior’s prophesy as Peter is Holy Spirit led to reveal Jesus Christ Risen to them. God had sworn a oath with David that God would put one of David’s descendants on the throne.
Jesus of Nazareth is that descendant and God raised Him from the dead. The Holy Spirit at Pentecost is testifying to Jesus Christ’s Resurrection! Peter calls them to task saying, “Therefore let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made Him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified.” v 36. They crucified him and Peter calls them to yield their hearts to Christ alive.
Like them, when you realize that your sins have crucified Jesus then you are ready to repent, be Baptized, give your life to Him. Jesus gave everything for you– He suffered and died on the Cross to take on your sins so that you now have a direct Way to God through Him. Holy Spirit affirms this within our souls that it is Truth. Alleluia!
