And we bring you the Good News that what God promised to our ancestors He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second Psalm, ‘You are My Son; today I have begotten You.’ Acts 13:32-33

The prophecy in Psalm 2:7, ‘I will tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to me, “You are My son; today I have begotten you.’ Old Testament Scripture points us to an Israelite newly throned king whereby the king becomes God’s son by adoption. Understood so for centuries until Jesus and others hear God speak these words both at Jesus’ Baptism and His Transfiguration.

And including Isaiah 55:3 where the Messiah with the everlasting covenant will arise out of the Israelite people, ‘Incline your ear, and come to Me; listen, so that you may live, I will make with you an everlasting covenant, My steadfast, sure love for David.’ Paul clarifies that David has glorified God as king yet the Good News is in the One with the everlasting covenant who has come in Jesus Resurrected who makes us reborn.

This is Good News! God’s revelation to all the people of the world is in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Romans 1:4 affirms Good News in Jesus who, ‘…was declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of Holiness by Resurrection of the dead.’ The Holy Spirit grounds the truth of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection within our hearts. We know the truth and the Truth has set us free to be alive within the everlasting New Covenant found in Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.
