Consistent Faith

Galatians 4:8-11

Paul is saying this: When you did not know God through Christ Jesus you were enslaved to either live according to the Torah law which you could keep perfectly or enslaved allowing pagan hostile forces to be first in your life– hedonism, selfishness, evil forces, debauchery, lies, dishonesty. When one lives their life outside of Christ’s Power then they live in enslavement (Greek: Stoichela) to either law or paganism.

Consistent faith secured in Jesus’ Powerful Presence by the Holy Spirit is what makes life worth living! Holy Spirit is our Guider to Holy living in Jesus and faith’s true joy.

In Jesus you are known by God. How can anyone turn back to their old ways and turn their backs on Jesus? This is not backsliding. It is rejection of Christ Jesus.

Can you choose to return to your old ways? Yes and why would you? Only in Christ Jesus do you find security, purpose, and enjoyment in every moment of each day. Love and obedience to Christ singularly gives us, His disciples, life’s meaning– in His purpose for each of our lives.

With Jesus we live in His loving embrace– cared for and cherished. No one loves us like Jesus does. Each day is a Holy special day as we who are His are truly alive together with Him.

8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods. 9 Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits? How can you want to be enslaved to them again? 10 You are observing special days, and months, and seasons, and years. 11 I am afraid that my work for you may have been wasted.
