Nathanael replied, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God!  You are the King of Israel!”  Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree?  You will see greater things than these.”  John 1:49-50

Nathanael was a man with high thoughts– he turned his mind and heart toward God as his point of reference as he sought truth and right living.  He was humbled that Jesus would speak of his heart’s desire to live justly as Jesus says, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.”

This young man who sat in the shade of God’s Presence receives encouragement from God’s beloved Son.  “I’ll show you greater things,” Jesus says, and He does.

Like Nathanael, you are going to see greater things as you study the Life of Jesus Christ and put His ways into action.   Keep the written word handy, referencing the words of Jesus to move you into higher ways without deceit. His higher ways are the Grand Plan of God.

Who has believed what we have heard?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For he grew up before him like a young plant,

he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by others;
a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity;
and as one from whom others hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him of no account.
Surely he has borne our infirmities
and carried our diseases;
yet we accounted him stricken,
struck down by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,

he shall find satisfaction through his knowledge.

and he shall divide the spoil with the strong;
because he poured out himself to death,
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.
