Cleansed By Jesus Now

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, got up from the table, took off His outer robe, and tied a towel around Himself.  Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around Him.  John 13:3-5

The Savior of the entire world shows you that He does all it takes for you to understand and know how much He loves you.  Washing feet is servanthood; for, in Scripture here we can view His unmovable intent; He has set His face to go to the Cross to give you your salvation and have victory over any evil that would seek to lure you into traps.  He is the suffering Servant. The task before Him, agony of death, weighs on His heart due to the portion of Himself that is human like you.

Look closer at your Savior here.  He has spiritual stubborness, genuine all encompassing heartfelt love for you, a humble lowly demeanor that does not love worldly power but rather totally loves each unique person on this planet, and He and the Heavenly Father are one.  He is the image of a perfect person that you aspire to be and by the Power of the Holy Spirit are being made into His exact likeness.  He brings all unique persons to His salvation by aligingin Himself with the least powerful as the world looks at power.

Continue on in this episode of foot washing and hear Peter respond, “”Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”  And Jesus answers “You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”  And later Peter does understand that by our Lord and Savior’s Word, minstry schooling, Resurrection and ascension he is cleansed by our Lord.   And so are you cleansed my friend, so are you!
